Hello everyone, this is Genette.

I'll be receiving some of the answers to your questions today. I'll be sending them as a blanket message to everyone.

No, although her own message to us was interesting. If she's sincere, then I have to wonder why she didn't communicate that to us before now. If, on the other hand, she's putting on a face for us . . . she could have chosen a more effective approach, to say the least. I don't think this will change many people's opinion on whether to work with her.

Mm. Either people will trust her on good faith, or...they won't. The question of whether our taking magic from a world hurts it has been brought to the forefront for everyone now, though.

[He nods.]

That was an interesting answer, or lack thereof. Especially since she could have easily lied.

I think she's noticed we'll call her out on it the moment it becomes apparent. If we reach worlds where that's in question, we're bound to reach one where the damage also becomes obvious very quickly.

[rebells]

That's true . . . she could simply be taking the long road. But she didn't try to justify it to us, either.

[Justifications are something that Qri didn't give much of in general, actually.]

She can't imagine that this group would actually help her with something like that, given how we handled the Palai situation.

She could also just be unable to lie, or...not think like us, in some ways.

I...hope she knows to work by a human sense of time, though. I don't fancy waiting years for a conversation with her to decide one way or the other.

[this isn't snide; he sounds genuinely worried about it. seraphs do that sort of thing when they're older than he is, with less direct human influence, after all.]

She seemed to respond to the, ah, what did Genette call it? "Telepathy spam" last time. We could always try that again if she doesn't contact us soon.

Qri, Qri, Qri, we're getting old waiting...

I gave her daily updates until Genette told us to stop. So did Dirk, I think.

[He seems, maybe, a little too amused by this.]

What to do now, though...

We should probably avoid annoying her until it becomes necessary.

[Dryly.]

We need time to decide how we're going to approach our next conversation, anyway. What sort of things we'd like to ask, and so on. It would be best to present something of a united front.

How we address her, too. I think...well, we've still got a lot of that list of questions left, right?

[He pulls out his notebook and flips to a copy of the list of questions, tilting it towards Mikleo. Some have now been crossed out.]

A decent number. That's not counting any new questions this incident may have brought up, either. I know I have a few.

Like what? I rather want to know how much she cares about the welfare of the worlds we take magic from for her, but that's not really a sensible one to ask before any other.

[rebells]

She mentioned that putting in the signets was for our protection. I'd really like to know if there's anything in particular she sees us needing to be protected from.

[oneandmikleonly]

[he frowns, reaching up to touch the one at his throat contemplatively]

What's strong enough to knock a universe out of balance...?

Probably nothing good.
