( QRI'S QUESTIONS )

Hello everyone, this is Genette.

I'll be receiving some of the answers to your questions today. I'll be sending them as a blanket message to everyone.

Again, I'm a messenger. You're free to ask follow up questions, but make sure they're sent directly to me.

[ OOC: You're free to discuss the answers as responses to the individual top levels. These can be mental telepathy messages with one another or action logs if your characters are nearby. If you want to ask Genette follow up questions, put @Genette or something similar in your subject header! ]

None of what I said is any kind of compelling reason to help her either, though. At least not as far as I understand it. I'd still prefer that we do things our own way.

To convince people to continue helping her, then. Some of them are.

We ought to figure out a more unified approach to that before the next time she asks us to collect something.

Did you have something in mind? Everyone's been content to do whatever they think is best; that's not a bad thing, but it does mean we don't have one collective way to respond to her requests.

[he ponders it in silence for a moment]

If it's clear that taking any magical source will hurt the world we're visiting, then the easiest response would be to request that no one take anything. If it isn't doing any harm and no one minds it, then we could request that everyone collect it but not give it to Qri until we have a proper conversation with her and get more information. ...It feels like coercion, but it's the only bargaining chip we've got.
rebells: exasperated, shrug (bellend)

Coercion was bringing us here. If she wants us to help her, I think asking her for some answers is more than fair. If we do that, however, we should decide ahead of time what questions we most want answered.

She might also tell us she can't hold a conversation with us until she gets another power boost. We should be prepared for that as well.
imsorey: (But then I lose track)

[personal profile] imsorey 2017-11-22 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
The questions we all want answered most are going to be different. The easiest way to decide would be to put it up to a vote based off of what she hasn't answered yet, right?

[he crosses his arms and taps his foot as he mulls it over, half muttering to himself and half directing his words to Jay.]

She can talk to Genette just fine without having that much power right now; it would be way too suspicious if she tried to say she can't talk to us without more energy. There's no way to prove one way or the other if that's the reality of the situation, but it doesn't seem like it is. I think we'll be okay if we hold firm and ask for questions to be answered before giving her anything.

That's true; she could always answer our questions through Genette, although it's odd that she only answered some of them this time.

We should hold a meeting to discuss this. Both among our smaller group, [he looks around to make sure no one is nearby] but with the coven as a whole as well.
imsorey: (They call me Mr. Fahrenheit)

[personal profile] imsorey 2017-11-24 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[he gives a small nod in agreement to both meetings.]

There are a lot of people who only just showed up within the last month or so too. I'm sure they want to be filled in on what all of this is about if they haven't heard already. Meeting with everyone will at least mean they get that information...

[the sentence trails off as he gets lost in thought, trying to figure out the best way to make sure newbies are kept in the loop. but he shakes his head and sets that aside for later.]

Do you want to try for before we leave? It might be better to wait until we're on the next world and have an idea of what we're dealing with.
rebells: (antebellum)

[personal profile] rebells 2017-11-24 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I think that might be best. We can take that opportunity to discuss any issues related to the new world as well.
imsorey: (Traveling at the speed of light)

[personal profile] imsorey 2017-11-27 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
I'm hoping there won't be any issues related to the new world. It'll take twice as long to get anything done if we run into trouble, right?
rebells: exasperated, shrug (bellend)

[personal profile] rebells 2017-11-29 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Hoping won't accomplish much. It's better to plan for the worst, I think.
imsorey: (So come out)

[personal profile] imsorey 2017-11-30 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
That almost sounded like optimism.

[it's teasing, he's teasing]

What counts as the worst, exactly? There are a lot of unique ways that things could go badly for us, but they should still be manageable. It would be more work for Qri to find new people if we're thrown into a mess we can't get out of, so I'm guessing she's done some research on wherever we're going.

[although it's a wild guess; Genette's said that Qri won't bail them out of trouble and they'll need to fend for themselves, but he's still willing to bet that they won't be immediately tossed into a dire situation. probably.]
rebells: (handbells)

[personal profile] rebells 2017-11-30 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
That or she's using clairvoyance, like we've speculated about. I don't know how one does research on other worlds.
imsorey: (This adventure is more than I)

[personal profile] imsorey 2017-12-01 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm...with the amount of power that she has at her disposal I would be willing to bet that clairvoyance is the answer. Research usually involves reading and reconnaissance, neither of which she can do at the moment. But that just leads to a whole different list of questions to ask, if that's the case.
rebells: side view, incredulous (disbelieving)

[personal profile] rebells 2017-12-05 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
It does. How far do her powers extend? Could we have prevented the Uvi's demise, if she'd made us aware of the situation?
imsorey: (Now it's left me blind)

[personal profile] imsorey 2017-12-10 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
There's always some way to help if you know what to do. If she really can do something like that then I'd prefer to use it to help people instead of letting them die.
