Hey. I have access now to what we'd need to make our own clothing. If you need anything in particular made, I can produce something durable enough for the conditions back at the Hub without forcing you out into the Badlands for the grave and unforgivable crime of not having money.

Of course, you might not have an idea what you want. In that case, there are already some designs I'm working on that might interest a discerning fashionista.

Worse yet, he also provides images of patterned skirts, leggings, pants, and even a suit. All in this criminally terrible style. Yet the workmanship seems to be really good.]

Yes. Being awful is the whole point. It forces people to ask questions about things they'd normally take for granted.

Like why the fuck anyone would wear that. It raises the question of why anyone wears anything, and what determines fashion or aesthetic tastes. It's a radical disruption that interrogates the status quo.

I see... It's definitely an interesting question, even coming from a place where there wasn't enough of a society for there to be a "status quo" on things like fashion and aesthetics in the first place. Aside from protective combat gear, I'm sure the main reason why androids wear clothes is because we were made in the image of humans who did wear clothes.

It's definitely an interesting situation. There may be practical functions, but they wouldn't necessarily have to come in the aesthetic form of mimicry of human culture.

Do you choose your own clothing, or do models get released with certain outfits? I've been wondering.

Our uniforms are all provided for us, but that doesn't mean we all wear the exact same uniform. I'm not sure who decides on the variances or who gets what though.

But that's just for YoRHa models. I'm not entirely sure how the androids on Earth decide what to wear or where they acquire clothing from.

Do they have a means to fabricate it? I can't imagine any K-marts lasted into your era, and definitely not their biodegradable cloth wares.

I would assume so, but I never saw how they did it. For my own uniform, the transporters were capable of recreating it the same way they could recreate my body.
