Hey guys! Sonic here! What's happenin'?!

[ the energetic voice of a teenage boy rings out in everyone's minds loud and clear. Without an image, there's no reason to assume it belongs to a short, anthropomorphic rodent. But it does. After being here for a few months, however, he's learned it's easier to talk to people if they don't have to deal with the shock of seeing him. ]

Just thought I'd pop in and say hi... oh, and ask for a hand. Anyone wanna help a guy build a ramp outside the apartments? All you gotta do is help me move some snow around! I'm working on it myself, but things go pretty slow with just one hog on the job. It'll be worth it when we're done, though, promise! Plus, I got a bunch of juice boxes to share with anyone who helps.

Oh, and one other thing. Anyone had any luck finding winter clothes that aren't made for humans? I'm freezing over here.

[ it is... less of a jiffy than he would like, with the slowdown, but it's still pretty fast! Just not inhumanly so. There's a knock on the door after a minute or two - Sonic was just outside the building working on his ramp, so he didn't have far to go. When he opens it, he will, indeed, see a hedgehog with a big wool scarf wrapped around his shoulders. ]

[That was really fast, he's opening the door and holy shit that's a big animal.

... Sonic'll excuse Mika rubbing his eyes for a moment, right? Yeah. When it's apparent that he did not suddenly start dreaming up big blue... hedgehogs??? in the middle of the day, Mika'll step aside and continue staring.]

Yer, uh, yer the guy, huh? Ya weren't jokin' about needin' somethin' that wasn't for humans... Not what I was expectin' at all.

[He's so baffled. But he's trying to be polite. Politely baffled.]

Do ya want any tea or candies while I'm measurin' things out?

[ the good thing is that he's used to the staring by now... he just offers mika a cocked eyebrow and an amused smile as he walks in, waving him off. ]

Nobody ever seems to expect me these days. But yeah, I'm the guy! The name's Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog. Thanks for having me.

[ glancing around the apartment with an average amount of interest... it looks the same as his, basically. ]

And nah, I'm fine. Gotta watch my weight, you know? I've been eating way too much fried food since I got here.

[HE REALLY SHOULDN'T STARE, HE'S BOTHERED BY STARING HIMSELF BECAUSE OF HIS EYES, but... it's a talking animal......... Even Mademoiselle isn't really alive, he knows it's ventriloquism, but this. This. Nisaka's never gonna believe him.]

Um... Kagehira's okay. Y'look fine to me, if it's anythin' at all, Sonic-san~.

[Let him be quick and fetch his measuring tapes, he'll look Sonic over to decide what he needs to measure while he continues.]

So what sorta clothes are ya in for? Hat? Jacket? I can try my hand at pretty much anythin' ya need!

Fine? You sure about that? You're staring at me a whole lot.

[ it's a dry comment, but he's not actually angry. He just stands there in the middle of the room, hands on his hips, waiting for further instructions on what he should do - it's not like he's ever had clothes made for him before, and despite everything, he's a dumb jock teenager at heart. ]

A jacket would be totally cool, by the way.

[W h o o p s he's jerking his head down, fingering the tape.]

S-Sorry, and, um, okay. Jacket. Got it. Hold your arms out like a T.

[A jacket...... oh boy. He just needs to measure arms and his general body shape. Shoulders, w...aist..??? and arms. Okay. Quick stuff he can just pen down.]

[ he t-poses as only an expert with many shitty games under his belt knows how. ]

Heheh. Don't worry about it, I'm just givin' you a hard time. Never met a hedgehog before?

Nope~. They're not real common pets in Japan, so you're kinda the first one I've met ever. I always thought they were kinda cute though.

[... And wildly different than this guy. He'll measure patiently though, noting down the numbers and whatnot. What else did Shu do for it..?]

Do ya have a kinda theme in mind? Could be color, could be style, anythin' like that.

[ okay, hold on, he'll get to color and style in a second. For now, he needs to whip his head around, staring at Kagehira in disbelief. Cute thing aside-- ]

Wait, pets?

[ WHAT ]

Um, yeah. Like... hamsters and dogs..? Er, b-but if ya don't have anythin' like that, then don't mind me! Ya just don't seem 'em very often at all!

[oh my god he talked about pets with a talking animal take your goddamn foot and eat it, mika kagehira.]

[ OR SOME KINKY SHIT?? but sonic doesn't know about that because he's a pure icon of children's entertainment, of course. ]

That... still doesn't sound right. You better not be getting any weird ideas just 'cause I came over here.

I'd like ya to forget I ever said a thing.

[... Done! Done. Okay. Mika's plopping down on the couch and scribbling at his paper, sketching out rough designs.]

Ya can sit now if ya'd like, Sonic-san... I'm just tryin' to figure out the sorta style that'd fit ya best now.

Hmmmmm.

[ he does not sit... he stands there still, crossing his arms and continuing to give mika a weird look, sort of squinting at him. I'm sorry. ]

[... Oh my god Mika feels like such a bother now..... He offended his client... What would Shu say? He'd be disappointed for sure; Mika's mouth always gets him in trouble, his lack of thought to the things he says always invites it right in, he'd been called careless a number of times because of it...]

Er... Somethin' easy t'move in, definitely... Nothin' too bulky, but'll keep the wind off ya for sure... A-Any particular kinda thing ya'd like?

[ no further explanation, huh... he honestly can't tell if Mika is feeling awkward about it or trying to be cagey. His gut says it's probably the first one, but... ]

Red and white would be good. Listen, you're not expecting me to serve you in return for this or something, are you?

Nnah?! No, of course not! Yer-- Yer like a small, uh, furry person! I wouldn't ask anythin' from ya, promise!

[PLEASE BELIEVE HIM....... SONIC-SAN..........]

Sonic gives him the stink eye for a few more seconds, then waves a hand with a sigh and a cheeky grin. ]

I'm messing with you. You couldn't get me to do that even if you tried! But I'm holdin' you to that promise anyway. [ a pause. ] Seriously, though? Your world must be crazy different.

Eheh... Yeah, it's, uh, it's really somethin' else..~

[Sonic's world is the weird one??? But Mika slumps slightly in relief, sketching becoming less frantic.]

Um, ya seem sorta used to people, so have ya been here a while or do y'have... humans too?

[Alongside your. Weird animalpeople.]

Of course. All kinds of different people live on my world - humans included. No one ever looked at me twice until I showed up here.
