( Knowing there will soon be an attack on Aimintas, Emil made it a point to try and get the telepathic attention of the only friend he had from back home to make sure he was alright. After no response and a sharp pain in his signet, he'd set off to try and find Lalli, only to locate his comatose body in the deserted city.

It's not that he hasn't seen this before being that Lalli has Finnish Magic Weirdness running through his veins, but the fact that he knows there's apparently about to be some kind of attack later on in the day...Lalli please wake up, my man.

Things Emil has done to try and wake his friend up:

smooshing his face

holding his nose

slapping his face

shaking him gently

shaking him vigerously

yelling at him

trying to feed him fish

trying to feed him a bath bomb

Things that have worked:

none of the above

If he could have at the time, he probably would have asked more questions about Lalli's previous weird magic coma -- or maybe this is totally something different. Either way, Emil is panicking a little bit and he can already feel the heat of his magic going through his body. maybe being on fire will wake Lalli up )

Uhm...! ( His voice is shaky as it loudly broadcasts to the rest of the coven. Back home no one particularly gave a shit about Lalli being in a coma, but maybe someone here has more compassion. ) Can someone help me wake up my friend!?

( He knows you wanted to sleep bud, but now isn't exactly the time. )

That's a fair point. Two worldhopping space witches seems rather unlikely.

[ he averts his gaze even further, an empty spot off to the side seeming terribly interesting to him. ]

Maybe, but... is it selfish to wonder whether or not they're managing just fine without me? Is it selfish to not know what I want the answer to that to be?

[ everyone wants to feel needed, maybe, but jude still can't seem to justify his own questions. this is some Personal Stuff. jude is surprised he's sharing these feelings at all. they're just sort of... spilling out. ]

( That sort of thinking is honestly unfamiliar to Emil, but Jude talking about it...he begins to think about it himself. On his team, he's the only one with his position, and the mission is wrapping up. Career wise, though, it's not like he's the only cleanser out there.

His family of course would miss him...the only other person who he really cares about is here. It seems simple to him, but also how unimaginable it is makes him feel a wave of sympathy for Jude. )

...I think people you care about will miss you because you're you. I can't say there aren't other doctors out there, but if you feel like this without them -- it makes sense they likely feel like this without you, right? I don't think hoping they miss you is selfish.

( At least that's how he hopes it works out. )

I appreciate that, Emil. Perhaps you're right. I'd like to hope it's not selfish. I just want to see their faces again.

... And I'm sorry I wasn't able to do more for Lalli. Really.

( He lets out a sigh that's about as lopsided as Jude's smile. )

It's alright. I'm beginning to think it's a lost cause -- not that he won't wake up. He and his magic are stubborn enough to sleep through whatever's going on, is what I mean. Nothing you can do about that.
