[OPENING] mass visual telepathy log
[Genette has provided everyone a portion of mirror, which they're free to do whatever they want to with it BUT the idea is that they introduce themselves to the telepathy network with a video feed, showcasing their face. Otherwise, the coven might just get an endless stream of grass, sand or hut wall.
If you're willing to commit to the exercise, here is your intro log for doing so! Hold up the mirror piece, introduce yourself and receive a broadcast from your fellow mages.
Because this is an open post, tag around like you would a typical log community post!]

I don't get it either, but that is what Dave said he heard from Brie who I have yet to actually meet. I guess she was the one who set up spycams in the mansion?
A coven is like. Witches though. Which explains the magic, but...[Yeah hold on, Lenka, he's going to actually dig out the letter now to fully read it.]
...I think they might be working together. Genette mentions that some of the other planets are dangerous and that she's going to stay out of the fighting. So I guess anyone who can fight becomes part of Brie's militia? So in the coven, I guess we start learning how to use our new powers.
no subject
[He doesn't know the details about the spy cams or her role in the mansion, but that's the vague impression he's gotten so far; he hasn't really spoken to her personally, but he could see her commanding a militia or platoon of some sort -- she's the tough sort who gets things done. Still...]
So the militia is Brie's, and the coven is Genette's. [which might be an oversimplification or a misunderstanding, but as established they're working with a rather loose group structure right now; he gives it some thought] ... I should talk to Brie, if we're expected to fight something other than boars.
[He can handle himself, more or less, here on the island. But the world is crazy right now and he doesn't have a weapon besides refrigerators. Jeez...]
no subject
If you do get a chance to talk to her, share with the rest of the class. [A grin.] I am curious what she has to say myself and sometimes Dave exaggerates on stuff. [...] Can you fight against the boars?
no subject
[Individually, they're concerning enough, but put together he's not sure what to make of things anymore. They're kind of trapped on an island with these people, and while he absolutely is wary there haven't been any casualties yet. Apparently.
So... back to square one.]
I definitely have to talk to her. [let's hope the talk doesn't go too sideways, he can be too blunt sometimes...] See for myself. And I can hunt the boars, I think. Most of the time.
[He's not entirely sure hunting (or fighting, and then eating, which is still hunting) the boars with kitchen appliances is the best method here, they might end up a little squashed. Pre-made pork patties...?
Actually, since there's telepathy involved here, have some random telepathic images of pork patties, John.]
no subject
Don't get ahead of yourself. I think you should focus on getting close enough to them first before thinking of how to filet them.
no subject
[He sounds a little huffy but he's not truly that bothered, things could be worse and at least they're getting meat out of it, and the boars are comparatively small and not the worst thing to dodge. Worst comes to worst he can shove a fridge in there as an emergency bacon brake.
He does blink in surprise when John laughs, though, unsure if he's said anything funny that hasn't already been poked at. Did he end up sending something funny again, that's been happening a bit in both directions. Sigh.]
But I don't know how to filet them anyway. I'd probably just squash them.
no subject
[Lenka please squish a boar with a fridge someday even if John doesn't realize that's a thing yet. Still, he won't exactly share what it is he saw but it's enough to keep Lenka in his good books. That's something (even if it's not that hard.)]
I think it's sort of the same? Flattening them will get them to stop moving, but I have no idea how edible they really are? The jerky I got turned into water.
no subject
[Truthfully, he's curious about what sort of people he'll be fighting alongside, even if they have no idea what they're going to be doing in the end. It's just practical to know, but he's also still trying to wrap his mind around the fact that most of these people have probably never seen an Aragami, let alone fought one.
Worldhopping sure is disorienting.]
And I can probably stun them, yeah. [...] What happened to the jerky?
[It couldn't have just... spontaneously liquified?! What is in those boars.]
no subject
[But ah.] I sort of accidentally fused it with my water and the fusion did not go exactly the way I planned it. It was pretty gross. [Let's go backwards?] Stunning is just as effective.
no subject
[Ironically, fighting imps and a dog guardian (or really, just about anything) is only going to go over well here. Lenka's not the best conversationalist on literally almost anything else. Guess who needs more hobbies--
He does blink a couple of times at John's description, and a corner of his mouth quirks up.]
It sounds like the kind of thing that can only happen here. Was it a magic accident?
[He can't imagine any other reason water and jerky would do that to each other, accident or not.]
no subject
But there's a light laugh because while it was stupid, it was still sort of funny.]
It was definitely a magic accident. I didn't think it would end in liquified meat and I do not recommend drinking it. I'm still getting used to stuff.

[What he wouldn't give for a hammer right about now. Or a sword, or a gun, just something he can hold onto -- summoning bludgeoning weapons(?) from the void is all well and good, but he just can't get used to going into battle empty-handed like that yet.
He's shaking his head in bemusement while he tries to imagine what John's describing... he can't, really, which is probably a blessing.]
And I think we all are. Your power is... fusing things? It sounds like you can fuse things that aren't meant to be fused, too.
[That is going to lead to some shenanigans. He kind of wants to test it out for himself sometime.]
no subject
[Even if the view isn't on himself right now it's obvious he finds amusement in his own plight given how he sounds.] As far as I can tell it's being able to combine any two items together. I have not found a size or capability limit yet, but it definitely can't be more than two. It's both awesome and kind of stupid.
no subject
[--is his confused assessment. In fact, it looks like the kind that squeaks.
.... Still, if John says he can bash boars with a toy hammer he'll take him at his word. Maybe it's actually more impressive that way?!
Lenka spends a few moments more thinking about what could happen if you had unlimited ability to combine items together. There's suddenly about a hundred more questions he wants to ask, but for now:]
So, if you fuse two items, and then fuse a third item to the fusion...? [this is getting wild] I guess you can't control how they fuse yet.
no subject
That makes a whole other item, yeah. When we made Rose's new lamp we fused four things all together? And I do not think I can take it apart again if I tried.
no subject
[Can you imagine the item chains that might result from this. Never mind item chains, actually--]
But I was wondering about control, because if you fuse two huts together... do you get two rooms? One room? How many floors, things like that.
[It's actually an interesting power for building and other shenanigans, if the size limitation is that out there.]
no subject
[But that...is a good idea. It's something he hadn't really considered but he's nodding slowly.] It's possible. The huts are already pretty close together, so it wouldn't be hard to fuse them. But I'm not sure if they would be side by side or just building upward. And size doesn't seem to be an issue now but it may be later? I don't know. [But he seems fixated now.] But that is something that could definitely be tested later.
no subject
[It's a little wry, especially because the biggest thing they have right now is the island itself and trying to picture John fusing things directly to the island is an exercise in something, all right.
It's something to consider for later.
For now, they can focus on huts and other kinds of shelter.]
I'd like to know. I think we'll need something other than huts and a bath house, later.
no subject
If we are going to keep coming back here, I think you're right. Got any ideas so far of what we should aim for?
no subject
[Lenka is all for pushing limits, honestly, despite appearing to be the cautious type. He just tends to be the one pushing them most of the time -- so moderation is something he's still learning, never mind moderating others.
His profile shifts in the mirror as he turns to look critically around the beach area...]
Someplace sheltered to make food. [sheltered from the elements, and boars, that is] Storage. Training facilities. Something like that.
no subject
no subject
[So they're not really lacking for materials. He's mostly wondering how much faster it is to use magic, versus just normal building; it's something he'd like to test, too, how much their powers can help in survival here. It's easymode survival so far, but...]
But you're right. Maybe there are still others living on the island...?
[Apart from their illustrious hosts, that is. He hasn't seen hide nor hair of anyone who didn't look utterly confused or was carrying one of the strange signets, so he'd been too preoccupied to think of it much.]
no subject
If there are other people on the island still, then maybe we should head out and look for them sometime soon. We are all here on the beach area for now but what's stopping us from going? It would make the most sense.
no subject
The huts look like they could be improved, too. I don't know what kind of weather or other conditions are on this island.
[They're kind of. In space. But imagining some kind of space storm smashing down on their heads is a little concerning with the facilities they have now...]
So I think a lot of us are going to be exploring.
no subject
We'll split up and explore and everybody can share their findings, I guess. That's about the only way I think we will be able to cover the most ground.
