[Genette has provided everyone a portion of mirror, which they're free to do whatever they want to with it BUT the idea is that they introduce themselves to the telepathy network with a video feed, showcasing their face. Otherwise, the coven might just get an endless stream of grass, sand or hut wall.

Well...Jade gave me a choice to be with Dave and Rose and travel with them and the others. But I didn't think it was fair to leave her to travel alone, so I stayed with her. It was sort of like traveling on a different planet, but not really. We were traveling through space? Kinda.

[...sigh.] It's a little complicated, but we were traveling on the Yellow Yard while Dave and Rose were traveling on a meteor. There was no way to get in contact with them besides the very first letter we sent at the beginning.

[Madoka has no idea what a Yellow Yard is, but the more John talks about himself and his friends, the more convinced she is of how cool they are. she's pretty sure that not even Mami-san could travel on a meteor — well, not that she's ever encountered a meteor to try.]

Are ... are you guys superheroes?

[windeity]

[Ahaha...ha...ha. He actually pauses because like. How do you exactly explain this. Where the fuck are the others to help him explain this???]

It is a little more than that? We're sort of gods.

Gods — [that did it. it's probably impossible for Madoka to look anymore shocked than she does right this second.]

[and, after a moment of stunned silence:]

... You really are, aren't you?

[Whoops.]

Yeah. I don't think we knew that would happen when everything started but yes. [There's an awkward smile?] But I don't think our god status applies here since our powers are gone. So I do not really know what happens next.

Well ... this is probably pretty normal compared to what you're used to, right? Maybe Qri brought you all here because ... she wanted you to live here normally, with your friends. Even if only for a little while.

[the irony of Madoka saying this is lost on her, sadly.]

You think? [It's a nice thought, but there is way too much to do back home. John in particular is a bit unsettled because he would be okay with staying here, even though he knows he has to fix everything.] But then what about everyone else?

[soulcomet]

... I don't really know. [but there is one thing that Madoka knows very well — so much so that she based her entire life around it, and once upon a time she became the literal embodiment of it. hope.]

But I do think that no matter what we go through while we're here, no matter how hard it is ... it'll work out for the better for all of us, in the end. Maybe we'll leave here even more ready to face whatever we have to back home.

[windeity]

[Madoka...that's. Something. That's actually something like John himself would say and it's for that reason he doesn't immediately answer because it's weird hearing those kind of words from someone else? But right.]

You might be right about that. It's always better at the end of a journey, isn't it? [Unless you're the Homestuck kids. But maybe that means their journey isn't over yet.] Maybe this is just a place we are all supposed to learn some valuable lesson to take back with us to help keep our worlds safe and work with Qri to make it so. And maybe that is why not all of our friends are here.

[Maybes. Lots and lots of maybes.] But we can handle it, can't we?

[hey light kids gotta stick together right? but Madoka smiles at that, 100 percent in agreement.]

Absolutely. I think ... working together with friends and people we care about will make it even easier to handle.

I hope we get to become good friends, John-san.

I think we will. We have a lot of time to get to know each other, but I don't think it'll be hard to become friends with each other and make new friends, too. If Qri really needs our help, then...I guess that is what we'll do. I'll be here as long as I can.

[There's a slight tilt of his head.] So what are you going to do now?

Eh? Well ...

I can't really do much fighting like this. [she looks down at her hand — rather, she's looking down at the ring on her finger. her Soul Gem.]

So, I guess I'll just have to do my best to support everyone — get better at healing.

[windeity]

[He notices that she glances off-screen but he doesn't think to ask. He doesn't think it's anything specific and maybe now isn't the time to ask either.]

I think we are going to need all of the support we can get. And you'll get better just like the rest of us. Did you read Genette's letter? We are going to have to explore and travel a lot. A healer is probably one of the best things you can be.

You think so? I guess I got lucky, then! [though she is tiny and pink, Madoka would be surprisingly difficult to injure or kill, anyway. one of the benefits of technically being a lich.]

[being right in the middle of the fray to heal someone suits her more than she realizes.]

I haven't really done a lot of exploring though ...

We're all pretty lucky to have you, I think. [He hasn't met anybody else with real healing powers, let him follow this belief!! However, he suddenly looks curious by that statement.]

Do you mean here, or...ever? What was your world like?

[nooo John you're making her blush. but she's much better at recovering this time around, and she dips her head slightly, as if to say thanks.]

I'm from Mitakihara Town. It's pretty big, which makes patrolling a bit tough, but Mami-san knows it like the back of her hand. She usually knows where to go!

[wait ... has Madoka told John about magical girls? now she can't remember.]

[Sorry he's this way he is. It's cute, Madoka, you're adorable. He doesn't recognize the name but it doesn't stop him from asking questions.]

Patrolling? [That's different than exploring...] What's Mami like? Besides knowing where to go. Rose is like that, too.

Mami-san is the strongest magical girl in Mitakihara Town ... she's amazing! And she's really smart and kind, and really pretty, too ... And she always has the best tea at her apartment.

[well okay that last part maybe isn't that amazing. but having tea and cake with Mami-san after a long night of fighting Nightmares is one of Madoka's favorite things in the world.]

She's been a magical girl the longest, so she leads the rest of us.

[windeity]

[Magical girl? He looks surprised for only a short amount of moments before his face shifts to a more relaxed expression. He's read manga okay, he knows what magical girls are but also a real magical girl? He's giving Madoka another look-over because...well, that sort of makes sense.]

She sounds pretty great, and tea sounds important. But uh. How long have you been a magical girl...?

[yeah if there is one person who looks the part for a magical girl, Madoka's pretty much it.]

[but something in her expression suddenly changes. why does it feel like she has multiple answers to that question, and why do all of them seem like the right one?]

[she shakes her head. she must be tired.]

Not too, too long! Enough to get plenty of practice, but I wouldn't call myself a veteran like Mami-san.

[windeity]

[Maybe he just thought she liked pink a lot? It's hard to say what, exactly, John thought but now that it's out there he's just readily accepting it. Magical girl Madoka. He can deal with that.

He catches the change in her face, but again, he's unsure of how to handle it. He remains patient and steadfast, waiting for her to say what she wants to say and somewhere knowing exactly how that feels. It's a weird question to ask.]

That makes sense. We didn't get our powers until three years ago, too, and then we didn't have a whole lot of time to practice before stuff happened. ["Stuff."] Mami sounds like she's a good friend.

Anyway, if Qri brought us here because of our old powers, maybe that is why she brought you, too. And if there are places our powers can work we can figure out everything then.

[Madoka nods at that — both to Mami-san being a good friend, and to John's theories on why they were pulled here.]

You're right. And ... I'd be lying if I said I wasn't interested in seeing what your powers from back home are like.

I'm not sure they're as interesting as being a real magical girl, but if we get the chance I don't mind showing you. It'll just...have to be in a place that's pretty wide open. [The windy thing might be a bad idea but he can mostly control that by now.]
