[OPENING] mass visual telepathy log

[Genette has provided everyone a portion of mirror, which they're free to do whatever they want to with it BUT the idea is that they introduce themselves to the telepathy network with a video feed, showcasing their face. Otherwise, the coven might just get an endless stream of grass, sand or hut wall.

If you're willing to commit to the exercise, here is your intro log for doing so! Hold up the mirror piece, introduce yourself and receive a broadcast from your fellow mages.

Because this is an open post, tag around like you would a typical log community post!]

We can be close comrades.

Do I feel morally responsible.

[...]

I ran away from home, learned my family's destiny was to fight vampires, to keep things simple, and someone I know and am fond of got attacked by a disembodied brain. Yourself?

[Take that as you will.]

BEST!!! OF!!! FRIENDS!!!!

[ a disembodied brain. and vampires? (this guy is not going to like his dreams, giorno can tell. he may be able to sympathize, but someone who accepts destiny will not be able to understand what it means to seize power.) ]

Grew up in the mafia.

[ that's honest enough. he'll leave it at that. ]
girasole: (...because he leaves one.)

Nah.

[personal profile] girasole 2017-07-15 08:19 am (UTC)(link)
THAT explains a great deal.
tropism: (pic#10540667)

you are a terrible liar

[personal profile] tropism 2017-07-15 08:24 am (UTC)(link)
It has the same level of clarity as "vampires" and "disembodied brain."

You go first.
girasole: (It was made for me.)

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My father vanished when I was young. I went looking for him. Eventually, I learned that he had left to fight an ancient race known as the Pillar Men. They were a species that was similar enough to vampires so imagine those, as I'd rather not think too hard about the specifics.

Anyway, my father perished to them, as my grandfather did before him. I trained to take up my family's mantle and to finish what they started. In the process, one of them was reduced to a disembodied brain and possessed someone that I know. A close friend of mine and I managed to save her. How dramatically has the definition of bizarre changed by 2001?

....

Is there a way to become a vampire? Or a Pillar Man? Not that I'm interested in becoming either, but it's important for me to know, before I launch into my life story.
girasole: (...because he leaves one.)

Let's just say yes to becoming a vampire and in the classical way that you see in bad fiction, and this place also gave me the ability to easily burn any vampire to a crisp, so keep that in mind if you ever end up seriously considering it.

the trick, reddo, is not minding that it hurts

Come now, I'm not here to start trouble.

What I'm trying to say is .... imagine the mafia having the monopoly on whatever power you say there is, which turns people into superhumans. Imagine ruling Italy with that ability and controlling all aspects of life - trade, specifically. Transportation, to a degree. Politics, on a local level, but who knows if it'll stay just that.

That's Naples, 2001.

[ he's not saying your efforts are going to be wasted, but ....

and he can't necessarily say he's fighting it, either. ]

girasole: (Shouldering weight.)

I refuse.

Well, all of this is assuming we're from the same Naples, era aside. I've already heard a few interesting stories. And, really, as long as those important to me live and my vengeance is done, I'm satisfied. And since you haven't mentioned anyone exploding when the sun came up I'm willing to pretend that we are from the same Naples, and, so, they finished what I started.

That does sound interesting. You do win. I did miss a lot.

shhh

There is a lot of optimism pinned to that long list you've got. You're the Patron Saint of Improbabilities.

And thank you. It's been lovely, all things considered.

At least I don't have to go to school.
[ you're right, ok. he's a brat. ]
girasole: (This is me being done with everything.)

But I-...

[personal profile] girasole 2017-07-16 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
Well, we are talking telepathically in a place that is most decisively not Italy, are from two completely different times if what you say is true, and have been, at least in my case, given a strange new power with what I'm used to using taken away in return. Though unlikely, I agree, us somehow being from the same Italy would be far from the most improbable thing that could happen here. I'm willing to pretend for a fellow countryman.

And school. Really?
tropism: (pic#10538134)

everything will be alright!

[personal profile] tropism 2017-07-16 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
All the best to you.

School. The institution where all boys grow to be fine young men. Didn't you know? I guess I'll never be a gentleman now.
[ ha ha. ]
girasole: (The reference is bad enough.)

... look, a distraction.

[personal profile] girasole 2017-07-16 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Ha ha. Something tells me you weren't in danger of that in the first place.
