[While everyone else is off freaking out about zombies and ghosts, at least one person seems to be enjoying the supernatural abundance. Granted, she's learned to not mess with the zombie boars and it's taken her a while to rid the area of the more malicious spirits, but otherwise she seems to be enjoying the company of a number of ghostly figures, some off minding their own business walking through walls, others waving cheerfully as she broadcasts, the shadows of the trees lit by candles while in clearer patches of sky the unnaturally close moon shines brightly.]

Well, I know that calendars and holidays probably mean nothing in another world, but by my calculations, it feels like we're finally getting into the right mood for the season. [She chuckles darkly... then spins about, letting her cape flare. She's dressed in orange and black - clearly she made sure to stock herself an ample wardrobe back on Aimintas. When she finishes spinning, she poses cutely with thumb and little finger out] But, but! Even if we're getting in the mood, we've still got a long ways to go before we can have a Happy Halloween! So Cagliostro needs help from all of you who aren't too busy being dead or dying!

[Pose change! She puts her hands together, fingers and thumbs circled in an oval shape that may or may not be considered pumpkin-shaped.]

Have any of you seen any pumpkins around here? The vegetable or flying kind!

Flying... pumpkins?

[Geir has been keeping himself out of the way of most of the zombie and spiritual weirdness simply by sticking to his home cave; even though it was a boar death site once, not many of them have felt any interest to come back and quote poetry about mortality at their former graves. ghosts make the back of his spine itch, and he's uneasily reminded that his little sister was to have rights over the dishonorable dead. what is Hel about, to let them wander like this? he's not going to get involved; it's not his area of authority!

still, it's nice to see that interesting little alchemist again, so he'll at least respond to her query by voice. he unfortunately doesn't have the first clue what Halloween might be. he's not even 100% sure he's seen a pumpkin.]

Aren't those some kind of vegetable...?

[Oh? That's a voice she remembers. She grins a bit]

Yes, the normal kinds are vegetables. The flying kinds are actually just spirits that look like them though - all cackling and carved up like jack-o-lanterns. They're rather satisfying to explode.

Why would a spirit choose to look like a vegetable?

[Geir's more amused than anything at the mental image. do people really get so bored when they die that they want to wander around appearing to passerby as potatoes? where's the appeal in that?]

I'd think that if you were going to appear to the living, you'd want to do it as a warrior!

Because they're vegetables carved into cute and spooky lanterns ☆

[Well, they were more like natural otherworld spirits than souls of the dead]

I'd want to appear as festive and adorable as possible!

Hmmmmm... I've never tried to be festive or adorable, but I guess it works for you.

[his affect is kind of tolerant and entertained than getting into the spirit of things, but at least he's not dismissing it out of hand. more of a "different strokes for different folks" attitude.]

I suppose neither of those are the natural states of dragons, but I could probably do something with a cute bow, or some ribbon decorations! [Though ribbons make her think of a mummy dragon... that would be fun.]

Well enough, I suppose - for being the witch's home, it's a surprising pain we can't use our normal magics here.

What is Halloween?

[Oh boy, time to give him lots of misinformation canon-specific information]

It's a holiday in late fall celebrated by various islands in confluence with when the gate opens widest, a time when this world and that grow closer together. It also marks the end of the harvest season, so there's lots of treats and celebration.

[And suddenly that darkly academic tone is swapped for one that's sickeningly sweet]

And~ It's when everyone wears all kinds of cute and scary costumes, dressing up like monsters to scare all the ba~d spirits off!

So... the whole disembodied people wandering around makes you think about pumpkins.

[Sure. Okay. Edward is trying not to look too skeptical at this.]

Also what is the flying kind of pumpkin? Fruits don't fly unless they're thrown.

[Science fact. Edward Elric has spoken. Also he's not entirely sure what to make of someone so cheerful at the moment. He may not believe in ghosts (there is some other explanation, mark his words) but it's still all just... disturbing.]

Well, you see... a time in the fall when all kinds of ghosts and spirits are wandering around, that's just what Halloween is like!

[Sorry mister science alchemist, miss magic alchemist is going to keep on smiling]

A~nd one of those particular spirits are the cute little flying jack-o-lanterns that come out to play! [And by play we mean bite your head off but hey, that just justifies blowing them to smithereens]

...that sounds awful. Ghosts and spirits shouldn't wander. That's not how things work.

[Death is death. Edward has particular personal issues about this. But anyway.

Little does he know he's talking to another alchemist. Though magic alchemy will make him cry so many many tears.]

So. These are pumpkin ghosts. So you can't eat them or anything. What's the point?

I don't think I understand the appeal of any of this.

True, I don't know why these spirits are wandering... [She seems to give that some serious consideration at least, looking around at the ones she's gathered. A few seem to be enjoying the little get together, but others look just kind of blank or lost - and there were worse ones she had to lose or shoo off as well.]

But where I come from, it's more like, hmmm... well, they're visiting for the festival! [At least some of them were anyway]

Geez, there's other treats for eating! These ones you play with and fight to gather candles from until Lost Jack comes out to play!

Visiting or wandering... it's still not...

[Right. Or anything even remotely approaching right.

But ah. Fighting and playing with flying pumpkins. This is... new. Or she's insane. One of the two could be either.]

I'm all for that holiday spirit, but this might not be the best time to throw a Halloween party. Having real live zombies around is a little bit too festive.

Hmhm, what sort of weak Halloween would have fake zombies? Though I'm not sure you can call them "live" either way.

Fair point! Still, it's pretty dangerous around here. Those boars are no joke.

[She glances around at that mention, betraying that she's not just having fun out with the living dead]

...those big, ugly things are quite the menace, aren't they? They don't even have the decency to shamble slowly either.

Yeah. Gotta be honest - I'm a little jealous. [ he can't believe pigs are outrunning him. He needs off this planet ASAP. There's a small pause before he continues. ] You need help dealing with them?

[There is a sudden jump on the other end. As though the person on the others side is hopping with excitement.]

You know of HALLOWEEN??

Of course! How could any girl miss such a chance to dress up in cute costumes!

[She can't see them but at least she can dig their excitement]

Oh, for sure! The costumes, the candy, the brains, its all so wonderful!

Its one of the best times to be alive!

[Rotty, you're a zombie...]

The brains? Are you a zombie this year?

I'm a zombie every year! [And every day, really.]

Its practically a tradition at this point!
