{VOICE OTA}
[Today you feel a few strange pulses in your signets before you hear anything over Qri's network. It's fairly pleasant, exactly as the signet communications tend to be, and fortunately doesn't at all resemble the strange fluctuations that plagued everyone back on days 103-105. It's more like someone poking at the network to be sure it's stable and not going to do any more of that before they speak. They seem to conclude it's safe after all.]
Hello? Oh, hi-- hi, everybody. It's Geir. If you don't know me, I'm the dragon.
[He's very matter of fact about it. He's the dragon. You're probably aware, his tone seems to say.]
Listen, I don't actually care if you know me, you should just help me and Nines out! He knows all kinds of technology things, so I asked him what we could find out about the Hub with them. But the question is really, what does everyone want to find out? There's been a lot of weird to chew on!
Chew...on? [9S echoes this thought quizzically, for an instant quite distracted. But right, right, the matter at hand—] Er, anyway, like Geir said we’re lacking data on our surroundings. And to know what we’re dealing with, gathering more would be best, so I was thinking I can probably scrape enough parts together to build a pod for that job, once we know what kind of information it should collect. I mean, unless we want everything...
[Geir's tone is still bright and interested. he loves hearing about this, even if part of him is still skeptical.]
Nines isn't even the only person who knows how to build... robots. I know a bunch of you build stuff. Who wants to help?
[9S clears his throat, quietly tacking a little disclaimer on:]
...Not that pods should be mistaken for machines or anything.
[When your kind’s fought machines for millennia certain lines get drawn. Thin, confusing grey lines. (Geir doesn’t know what to say to that, so he just lets it stand.)]
((both 9S and Geir may reply to your toplevels, and also feel free to jump each other! this is the start of a player plot to get a little more technology on the island. ♥ more details here!))

Do you mind if I...? [ she's reaching for a bone, intent on seeing this power for herself. ]
no subject
[Geir nudges the bone towards her, intrigued by what she'll do with it; they have an odd tingle when they're picked up.]
You could create things out of thin air and move them around? Or are you talking about something else? That's some power.
no subject
I could move them around as I wanted, and I was in charge of helping create a new universe! So it is not new to me. They are definitely the coolest powers.
Have you ever been on a slide, Geir?
no subject
[both of these things are worth repeating in astonishment, apparently. what in the world!!]
N...no...

[ gripping one of the bones, jade does what she does her thing with a surprising amount of energy. it almost feels like the familiar crackle of the green sun, a boost of power that is unmistakable. it's unique in it's own way, and doesn't make her feel like electricity is coursing through her body, but she feels strong. the ground doesn't erupt this time; instead, a series of vines extend from the forest, meeting together, coiling together like snakes. coming together like that, they assume a form big enough to support geir, and they're high enough that surely, surely, it's a fun ride. when jade is satisfied with the height (and it is so, so, so much more than what she's used to creating, used to manipulating), she wipes a bead of sweat from her forehead and beams. that same hand rises and holds itself, as if balancing the vine itself. ]
Our game was about creating a whole new universe. It was my job to ensure that. Want to give her a whirl, hehehe?
[ she means the giant vine slide, of course. ]
no subject
[of course he wants to slide down the vines. this is incredible-- even if he's sure the vines won't last long like that without Jade's power supporting them, they'll definitely last long enough.]
Hey, you too! Come with me!
[he extends a claw for her to climb into. let's DO THIS THING.]
no subject
so. cool.
clamoring onto geir, jade makes sure her steps are light and easy. she doesn't want to hurt or strain him. while she's positive that her added weight is next to nothing, she still wants to be gentle. ]
Okay! Okay, I will! Jeez, it has been so long since I rode anything...

[Geir places Jade on his back, where she can climb up to the obvious riding-spot between the ridges of his back and neck most easily. there are handholds there. they'll probably be necessary. Geir himself is already carefully climbing up the vine slide, not waiting for Jade to finish her own ascent. he moves gently, though. it's not his goal to jolt her loose until she's firmly hanging on to his back.
this is a truly interesting experience. are the vines even slippery enough to make a slide? will it be more of a swing? does it matter?]
no subject
[ a dog, of course. a gigantic thing of an animal, really, able to carry a thirteen year old girl around without even displacing a hip, despite him being grandpa harley's before he was jade's.
the vine curls into a straight drop down once geir reaches the tippy top of it. it's high enough that it's a steep drop, but not so steep that there's any chance of injury. clearly, jade is trying to factor in his center of gravity (though... he can fly, so. what does it matter?)
either way, it's a mostly clean slide; the only real danger is that jade tries to curl it again, as if trying to elongate it. ...or show off. mostly the latter, really. ]

What in the world--?!
no subject
Hehehe, not bad, right? Slides are pretty awesome!

Geir shakes his head with another laugh once he's finally still again, thoroughly amused. he's tried death-defying dives through the air before, but nothing quite like that on the ground for a long time now.]
It's so silly! Is that what humans do, since you can't fly?
