He's in the middle of fiddling with his tablet when Lalli's voice comes in, which is actually welcome his recent social contact was being covered in Palai young and an Elto trying to pet his hair.
He's not sure about Lalli's magic; Emil hasn't seen it in action and their longest conversation occurred when Lalli still wasn't sure of what it even was. That's why Lalli not sleeping is so weird. Back home, sleeping was what he did 70% of the time. )
Did you have a rough night? I'm sure if you lay down long enough, it'll happen. If the beds are uncomfortable, try the floor. ( He's a gremlin, after all. )

It's also a curious issue -- Emil's pretty sure that's abnormal. He's no doctor, but that doesn't sound like something a person would ever go through naturally. )
So is that your magic -- insomnia? ( He could be totally off base but that's never stopped him from guessing and assuming before. But what the hell is even the point of that?? ) If that's true, I don't know if you can go to sleep.
( The statement isn't exactly helpful, but it isn't without a concerned tone. It's not like he's gotten a reprieve from his own magic. It isn't a constant kind of power, but it's not like it's going anywhere, either. )

I've seen people with magic from back home. ( Whether or not they call it magic, it's magic to Emil. ) Does that mean you have your other magic too? The Finnish mage stuff.

Anyway. Not fighting him too much is good because Lalli is still struggling with the fact that Emil was a wrong person who knew nothing and Lalli was always right even though that meant everything was a disaster all the time forever. Things just weren't nice.

Hmm...do you like tea? I think that's supposed to make you sleepy. Lots of blankets can also do the trick. ( Being warm in general is really sleep inducing to him as compared to shivering cold temperatures, but that's not abnormal. ) Maybe if you try out a bed for a change it might be easier.

It doesn't taste as good as coffee does. ( It was hard to switch from coffee regularly to tea most of the time when the money dried up. ) You can add things to it to make it taste better, but the main point is it's supposed to be relaxing, so it's the opposite of coffee anyway.
( It...didn't actually soothe him since he didn't like the taste, so maybe this is useless oops. )

Oh, there are small rooms you can stay in in the big market area. They have better beds and more personal space than that horrible, cramped house everyone else is content with staying in.
( Having a room and bed of his own, even if the bed is lizard-sized > sharing a room with five other people and having to sleep on the ground. )

I know you can't sleep, but you should at least rest. All that walking has to hurt your legs eventually. ( At least, the thought of walking around for an entire day makes his knees hurt from the idea. )
