Hello there.

This is Jay. If we haven't spoken yet, I've been with this "coven" more or less since its beginning, and I helped coordinate defense during the first Uvi raid. Feel free to ask me any questions you don't want to bother Genette or Brie with; a more informed group benefits us all, after all.

I'm talking to you all in interest of that, actually: a number of us have expressed that a comprehensive listing of everyone's abilities, particularly those granted us by Qri, would be useful to have. If you'll come talk to me about yours, either over telepathy or in person, that would be much appreciated. Genette should know about your Qri-granted power, if you don't.

I'll be in the house we're staying in for most of the day. Please do take care of yourselves, and be careful not to get shocked.

[ she eyes him, hand on her hip, studying him just as much as he's studying her. ]

You're younger than I expected, kiddo.

Oh? What were you expecting, a middle-aged man?

[He does not sound like a middle-aged man, for the record.]

[ it's all about the mannerisms, baby. ]

You wish. [ she twirls a long piece of hair around her finger. ]

Alas, I was expecting an adult, not a teenager.

[If she meant she was expecting an adult in a flirty way he is studiously ignoring that. Anyway--]

I don't, actually. I like who I am.

[ who says that with a straight face? she quirks a brow but then sighs, holding her hands up in defeat. ]

You seem pretty harmless, so I suppose I'll fill out ... whatever this is.

Oh? Changing your mind so easily?

[It's probably in his best interests not to say anything, but he can't help it. He hands her a survey.]

You're going off the assumption I'll be telling the truth.

[ she winks, holding the survey up curiously. ]

Qri....

The one who brought us here. And you always had the option to lie.

[He shrugs expansively.]

But now the lie would be even more compelling, wouldn't you think?

[ the smirk dies down as her eyes comb over the survey once again. ]

And I knew who she was. The mysterious enigmatic poor excuse for a witch.

Perhaps. It depends on how poor you think my memory is.

You seem to have some opinions on what constitutes a 'witch.'

You're a sharp cookie, kiddo. It takes a great and magical witch to know when someone isn't living up to that name.

What should a witch be doing, in your opinion?

Dazzling her audience! Not hiding behind some so-called witches and carting us around like caged animals.

I'm told she's sort of in a coma at the moment.

[Lightly, although he seems amused.]

What a convenient coma! A perfect excuse for us to gather those bones.

[ her hand is on her hip, expression unamused compared to his. ]

I see right through her subterfuge.

So you think the part about her being in a coma is also a ruse?

[He puts just the slightest emphasis on the 'also'.]

Who knows. But it makes for an interesting twist to our little tale, doesn't it?

[ to be honest, she doesn't much care. it's all amusing to her and she didn't exactly have anything big going on back home, either. ]

It does, hmm, 'nicely' explain why she can't communicate with us or offer us more information about what we're doing here.

[His expression goes sharp for a moment, but then he shrugs.]

So being a witch is about being flashy and direct, is that right?

[ she smirks, but then raises a singular finger. ]

Not necessarily! It all depends on the witch. But I can tell you it sickens me to see the cheap stunts being pulled here! What shoddy acting and ill-timed messages! It's a tragedy.

Is that your main objection to this situation?

Who knows.

[ there's a rather ominous giggle before she reaches for a pen and jots down a few answers. ]

There! Satisfied?

[ she's waving it in his face oops. ]

[Oh, boy. He snatches it out of the air--he's pretty quick, although she can try and pull it back, and . . . well.

He can't say he wasn't expecting something like this. He laughs.]

So what does mimicry entail? Can you copy other people's powers?

[ his speed impresses her, to be honest, and she brings her now freed hand to clasp her chin. so pensively. ]

Not exactly. It's limited to noise.

[ she'll take this seriously for a few moments, just because she's puzzling out his speed. ]

[He smiles at her, reading over the piece of paper carefully before putting it in a pile with the other filled-out surveys.]

So sound, then. Does that include voices?

[ a smirk, and then she'll pause for a moment before speaking again, this time in a near-perfect impersonation of jay's voice. ]
