Hello there.

This is Jay. If we haven't spoken yet, I've been with this "coven" more or less since its beginning, and I helped coordinate defense during the first Uvi raid. Feel free to ask me any questions you don't want to bother Genette or Brie with; a more informed group benefits us all, after all.

I'm talking to you all in interest of that, actually: a number of us have expressed that a comprehensive listing of everyone's abilities, particularly those granted us by Qri, would be useful to have. If you'll come talk to me about yours, either over telepathy or in person, that would be much appreciated. Genette should know about your Qri-granted power, if you don't.

I'll be in the house we're staying in for most of the day. Please do take care of yourselves, and be careful not to get shocked.

[Indeed, Jay can be found at a table near the entrance to the coven's house, with a stack of papers that read:

Maybe. You could talk to him about trying.

[He sighs. He's never been one to avoid an issue.]

Moon.

[lunala]

[Moon nods, and then looks at Jay curiously.] Yes?

[rebells]

It really doesn't bother you that she's taken us from our worlds, and bound us like this?

[He puts a hand over his collarbone, where a turtleneck covers what would be the crystal they have now.]

[lunala]

[Moon echoes Jay's gesture, touching her own crystal.] It's not that it doesn't bother me. I miss my friends, and the Professor, and my mom... I don't know what's happened to Rotom...

But if I'm here, I want to help. If whole worlds are in danger if Qri dies--I have to do what I can.

[rebells]

We don't have any evidence that she's telling the truth.

[lunala]

We don't have evidence she's lying, either.

[rebells]

She brought us here against our will, without asking us, and expects us to work for her. Those aren't the actions of an honest person.

[He says it flatly, matter-of-factly.]

[lunala]

That's not evidence. Or maybe it's circumstantial evidence? [Moon is not a detective, but she'll expand on what she means here.] We don't know how she thinks or how she brings people here, really, so I could say something like--she knew she was dying and, because she knew how many worlds would die if she did, she did what she could to save them.

[rebells]

[He shakes his head.]

It's still something that you have to explain away. Why are you so eager to take her side?

[lunala]

Why do there have to be sides at all?

[rebells]

When someone kidnaps me from my home [Not that he wants to go home right now, but he's not about to mention that to Moon] and expects me to do her bidding, she's created sides.

[lunala]

[Well, she can't really say he's wrong to be angry.] I want everyone to be able to work together and understand each other better. If Qri doesn't understand how she made people mad or scared bringing them here, then I want to help her understand. If she doesn't care, that's different.

[rebells]

[ . . . she's a little like Shirley. Determinedly choosing to believe in someone's possibility for goodness.]

And what will you do if you help her and it turns out she doesn't care?

[lunala]

I'll try to convince her. If she doesn't, then--it depends. If she's telling the truth and a bunch of universes depend on her, then I can't just let those universes be destroyed, but I'd try to find my own way to help.

...And if she's lying and hurting people, I'd stop her.

[rebells]

[He straightens, although he doesn't get up from his seat, looking across at her.]

You say that, but by the time we realize what she's doing--by the time you realize what she's doing--it might be too late.

[lunala]

I'd figure out a way. [Whether or not that's true, she seems determined about it.] But I don't think it would get that far.

[rebells]

How do you know? You don't seem willing to suspect her at all. People with malicious intentions don't always make them known.

[Not angry, but sharp, definitely.]

[lunala]

I know. [Moon's posture tightens as she thinks back to everything Lusamine did.] I wouldn't do everything Qri said blindly. But everyone deserves the chance to do the right thing.

[rebells]

It wouldn't have to be obvious, even. She could just keep asking us to collect power until she had enough to do whatever she wanted.

[lunala]

I think there would be signs. Even if they were little signs.
