[suddenly, a voice!]
Hello! I hope everyone's doing all right now that we're back here on the island.
Um. Sorry if this is a weird question, but ... if you're an experienced fighter, what sort of training do you do that helps you out the most? The sort of thing that maybe a beginner could pick up on easily?
[beginner isn't really the right word for Madoka. but with her usual abilities out of reach, floating along with wherever the high frequency is, and with only a bow that's older than she is to use as a weapon, she's not that many steps ahead of one. does that make her a novice? first class? junior hero?]
It couldn't hurt to have that information out there, anyway. For the people who didn't do any fighting back home.
— Oh! If we haven't met before, I'm Madoka Kaname. If you ever need healing or first aid, please come see me, okay? I'm usually at the beach or the base camp.

Do you know how to climb trees? I grew up in a jungle and, um, sometimes to escape I had to make like a monkey with a banana and split up those trees. It's pretty fun if you get good at swinging and jumping between them, too!
no subject
I haven't really tried climbing any trees since I was little ... I've always been a bit clumsy, to be honest.
It couldn't hurt to try here though! It'd be good for building strength, too, right?

Personally, I use a bow. I don't know if they're similar at all, but I'd appreciate any advice you can give me.

I'm happy to teach you or anyone who wants to learn to defend themselves the basics.

It'd probably be a good idea to learn, though, right? What made you decide to use daggers?

What kind of weapon do you think would be easy to use? Learning to fight well usually takes years, and even then, if the enemy is flying or has superhuman strength then there's still nothing I can do.
no subject
Mmm, well ... Would you rather defend yourself from a distance, or up close?

But I've read archives about Old World training methods, if those would be helpful.

I normally use a bow, so I think it might most be helpful to learn more about swords... [so she knows what to do if she's ever up against someone wielding one.]
Was it difficult to learn how to use it?
no subject
[ Her name, though... it sounds Japanese? ]
You could teach me the bow as well, if you like.

How are you doing settling back in?
no subject
It's ... not very comfortable, but it's not so bad! I've been getting by. [she made shoddy, but serviceable arrows. they were tied together with hair ribbons. she shot a fish with one.]
[Madoka likes to think Dirk would be proud.]
What about you? I have some snacks that I brought back from Aimintas, if you'd like some?
no subject
[His whole mind just narrows in on that, making the idea of taking any snacks impossible. Is Madoka ok. What is happening. Tell Him.]

Madoka, don't strain yourself too hard, okay?
[ a kind, but slightly worried, voice as always. ]

[but there's something like concern — guilt? — in the lilt of her voice.]
I promise I won't. I just ... want to make sure I can still help.
