Um, hello? Ah, um, pardon my interloping in your thoughts here but, ummm... I believe we've found the source of that frightful cloudburst we've been having. It appears those ornery blue fiends are causing quite the brouhaha from their literal cooler. They seem a mite bit peeved.

[A beat.]

I, um— I don't have any suggestions, I just— I thought everyone should know.

[Another pause.]

How is it getting through the ice?

... Unless they're melting the ice and we're mistaking it for rain?

It looked like there were little holes. I don't know if it's melting or their red hot fury is doing that, though.

Mm, I think that must be it, yep. I'd say they'll settle down but... they seem like a rowdy bunch, so that's unlikely.

Ah ... Do you think it'll all hold?

[the frozen seaweed, she means. Madoka's own encounter with the Uvi didn't end as well as it could, so ... she doesn't like it, but she could see how they would be strong enough to break free so quickly.]

But... they couldn't use their water magic when they were down here. It was too far away, so if their home is so far away, how are they able to make it rain here?

[Were they able to reach further in the water?]

Unless... did they already get out?

[Jake considers his answer. He wants to just immediately jump in and say it will but being realistic about things matters now.]

...For now it should. [It also means he can have honest confidence in his answers.] But, it seems it's even more of a temporary solution than we reckoned. Might have to knock our heads together soon and figure out what else we can do.

They haven't gotten out yet, thank goodness. I don't really have an answer. Maybe because ice is just frozen water, they've figure out a way to use it?

Hmm ... I don't think that'll be a problem. There are a lot of really smart people here — I bet we'll be able to figure something out in no time.

[and yes, she is including Jake on her mental list of smart people.]

It sounds like we're just going to need something stronger than ice.

Dirk and I chatted a bit about coming up with a better solution but I'm not sure what would be right and fair to both sides... [He wonders if that sounds stupid.] They might be vicious creatures but they're just animals trying to get by, I think...
