( At first there's not a video feed, just a very simple yet disgruntled question: )
Does anyone around here know how to knit? I feel like I have to be missing something.
( In an effort to illustrate the point, there's suddenly a telepathic video stream attached, showcasing what appears to be a muddled ball of yarn; someone may or may not have resorted to trying to rub or melt it together because knitting is obviously just some type of witchcraft.
Hands attempt to pull it apart to showcase the expert craftsmanship that went into this mess -- there's also the sound of rain, as well as a small voice in the background that keeps shouting FUCK! over and over again with varied levels of intensity. The culprit is a chubby Elto baby that's crawling around just out of sight, a thick stick grasped firmly in their hand. )
Lisko! No bad words! -- Regardless, I have a suspicion that the problem is more so with the type of...materials...since they don't want to stick together no matter what I do.
( Or Emil's just an idiot, which is only somewhat more likely. )

Might be better to try when it’s raining...
no subject
That would make it much more difficult. I can’t totally keep fire from being put out if there’s water involved. ( Like, it would be possible since that’s A LOT of fire but also he’s still not insanely good at this and he’s so comfortable right now...wishful thinking it will stay. ) It feels a lot better in here, anyway.
( Lisko, tired of only simple scratches and pets, does their best to crawl up Lalli’s blanket to find a place to sit amid the dips and corners of both of their bodies. A true cuddle party at last. )
no subject
[The rain difficulty is a safety measure!!! He totally believes in you.
MUFFLED SCREECHING THOUGH]
Why are you both so cold!
no subject
( Usually he’d be sassy, but the question is answered so simply it makes him sound stupid for responding to something almost hypothetical. Thanks, booze. )
They’re a lizard, so staying warm is probably hard...no fur or hair. Or skin.
no subject
[THERE IT IS!!! BEING LIZARDY!!
But fine, Lalli will huff and hug Lisko to him while he...figures out the best way to share the warmth. It’s a lot of clumsy shuffling.]
Next place better have really soft clothes...
no subject
( Emil’s probably only heard the term cold-blooded once in his life, so there’s no way to accurately describe it now. He lets Lalli do what he pleases, content with however much he’s willing to do. )
Soft clothes, better food...less rain. I would prefer a bigger bed, too. A much better house, while it’s at it.
no subject
[this is a long list, though...]
Oh. I like our house. I just wish it had more blankets.
no subject
It’s small, cramped and it leaks.
no subject
Well... I guess. [The leaking part, anyway. He takes another drink while he looks around.] It reminds me of where I lived back home. But not the leaking. Mostly.
no subject
Then I definitely hope wherever we go next has better houses. Something even better than those lizard suites, even! Real houses...yes, real houses would be best.
no subject
[When was the last time he was in a real house, back in his world...? Well, there was the place in Mora, but that hardly counted as an answer. He was there for work reasons.]
What do you need all that space for?
no subject
People...? ( That's the first thing he thinks of. That doesn't feel as right as it should. His house usually isn't very full...it also doesn't help his argument when he's only talking about two barely-adult males and a lizard. ) Well, it's better to have more space than you need than less. Wouldn't it be better to have your own space, too?
no subject
If I need space, I go outside. Or under the bed. [But...] Do you need space?
[as Lalli and Lisko are cuddled up on him]
no subject
( Those are his drunk, overly wordy thoughts on the matter. ) Imagine having to stay in this hut forever -- two grown men and then a huge lizard alien. We'd be living on top of each other all day, every day. It's ridiculous to even think about!
no subject
We don't, though. We go outside, and the coven goes to other worlds, and we'll go home one day.
no subject
It was rhetorical -- I'm sure we won't be trapped here forever. This level of space just isn't sustainable for long periods of time, no matter where you are.
( As an answer to a question misunderstood, Emil gets more comfortable, totally unbothered by this makeshift cuddlepile. At least everyone being smooshed together makes the cramped hut in question appear bigger. None of these things matter to Lisko, who switches between papping all three of them while gurgling nonsense syllables. You'll get there one day, baby lizard. )
no subject
...I guess I wouldn't know if you complained about this in the tank.
no subject
( Like...would anyone WANT to live with six people in one small area?? )
I grumbled about it to myself when it got frustrating.,, At least all of us aren't in this damned hut.
no subject
[But if Tuuri had been here, in this even smaller space, and everyone could understand each other, and you could speak without speaking... He wonders if he would have known. If he could have kept her close in his sights so she couldn't... Hn.]
no subject
God, Reynir.
Totally ignorant of Lalli's new line of thought, Emil sighs, half-contented and half-bleary. )
Sometimes I'm glad those others aren't here. I don't feel particularly bad about it either. I like Sigrun well enough, but it would be such a hassle to have to be with them even more...do you understand? ( It's not a relief at their not being abducted, but more like a..."thank god my coworkers aren't here because your shit gets really old really quick" feeling. ) It would be great to be back to get the mission over with and be home, but I can't say I'm upset with their absence here.
no subject
Yeah... I'm glad it's you. I don't want them here, and I don't...think I want Onni here, either.
no subject
Onni...what's he like? Your other cousin. ( It's somewhat mysterious to him...on one hand, he certainly wouldn't want his family forced to go worldhopping with him, but that's more for their sake than his feelings about his crew members. Which is what Lalli feels for Onni? )
no subject
Crybaby.
[SWIG]
no subject
If that all? He sounds like a real character, then. ( Emil knows what Onni looks like, but all he can think about is a tall version of Lalli who's just sniffling all the time.
The stupid laughter continues; holy shit that's an image, alright. )
no subject
Mm. I guess so. He's just Onni.
