( At first there's not a video feed, just a very simple yet disgruntled question: )
Does anyone around here know how to knit? I feel like I have to be missing something.
( In an effort to illustrate the point, there's suddenly a telepathic video stream attached, showcasing what appears to be a muddled ball of yarn; someone may or may not have resorted to trying to rub or melt it together because knitting is obviously just some type of witchcraft.
Hands attempt to pull it apart to showcase the expert craftsmanship that went into this mess -- there's also the sound of rain, as well as a small voice in the background that keeps shouting FUCK! over and over again with varied levels of intensity. The culprit is a chubby Elto baby that's crawling around just out of sight, a thick stick grasped firmly in their hand. )
Lisko! No bad words! -- Regardless, I have a suspicion that the problem is more so with the type of...materials...since they don't want to stick together no matter what I do.
( Or Emil's just an idiot, which is only somewhat more likely. )

voice, he's out and about rn
Why are they doing that?!
[make their hell stop!!!]
voice right back!!! get back home, pal
( Sorry, he's frustrated and trying to wrangle a lizard that just got tangled in his mess -- the mess he thinks Lalli is referring to. Why are the threads being pieces of shit? Beats him.
Good thing this is just voice telepathy or else Lalli could get another earfull of FUCK! )

[what........Emil!!]
You didn't! You asked about your weird string thing!
no subject
( The insult to injury is Lisko's continued swearing as he thinks, combined with hitting things with the stick. This is a fuck, that is a fuck! )
no subject
Mrrh, what have you been telling them... [stop saying fuck around our child!! Anyway...] ...There's weird stuff happening. You're playing with your strings at home?
no subject
I don't swear around Lisko, and I'm not playing! ( What kind of father do you take him for??? ) But yes, we're home. I went out for a bit earlier, but the rain's too heavy now...you should come back before it gets worse!
( Finding shelter better than a but by the beach might be smarter?? But casually calling it home, holy fuck. )
no subject
What are you doing, then?
[He doesn't understand this string hobby...]
I'm just checking on something. Getting stuff.
no subject
Untangling a naughty lizard. ( Which is meant to be said more to Lisko, but no one said he was great at telepathy. ) Bring back whatever you can. Who knows how long this storm will last.
( The lizard of the hour has no complaints as they scamper off to continue saying FUCK! under Emil's bed. )

Mmn...
[He gives some sort of mental nod, since that was more or less his plan anyway but there's no need to gloat over that.]
Even if it's bunny?
[he doesn't have to gloat but he has to jab at his soft sensibilities]

voice, oh god emil
After a short while, Hibiki makes up his mind—knitting it is. ]
You're on the right track. You're definitely missing something. Knitting needles, for instance. But please do tell what did you mean by "they don't want to stick together".
no subject
( He tried tying them to the needle and then tying them all together and he just got a bunch of knots. )
no subject
First of all, what have you been planning to knit?
no subject
Socks. They're just tubes made out of string...why is it so inane and difficult!?
no subject
[ It's true, though?? Also Hibiki, you're not helping by just repeating what Emil's saying. Like, at all. ]
Do you have to be the one to make it?
no subject
( Emil, welcome to the world of commissioning. )
no subject
[ Usually he's been using knitting needles for this but maybe normal pens will work too...hopefully. ]
no subject
Really? I have a lot of string and stuff I got from the lizards...! Do you want something in return?

one day i won't forget about formatting...one day

voice;
[ in true cripplingly shy fashion, ruby replies with only a voice feed. she's still getting used to this telepathy business, so her voice might seem a bit more like a whisper at first. still, this is actually something she's interested in! ]
I-I'm better at sewing, but I like to knit sometimes...
no subject
That's excellent? What am I missing here? I've got the needles and the thread -- do I need a type of glue? I know it can't be tape since I've never had a sock with tape in it.
no subject
It doesn't sound like you're missing anything... Did you make your slip knot yet?
no subject
( This is 100% Greek to him. Explain, sewing-sensei. )
no subject
[ that doesn't help at all. how should she explain this... ]
You need to make a knot with the thread, and then loop it onto the needles. You did that, right...?
no subject
( So this isn't witchcraft, just a massive feat of engineering. )
no subject
Yeah. Once you tie it onto one of the needles, you sort of just... work it onto the other one and make knots as you go, I guess?
[ oh geez, that doesn't sound like it makes sense. she gulps, hoping to try and save herself from humiliation. ]
Um... It's kind of hard to explain in words...
no subject
That’s...probably not what she means. )
No, not really. ( Sorry Robs, it’s not you (it’s him). ) There has to be some kind of explanation for this. Didn’t there used to be books about this kind of thing?
