( At first there's not a video feed, just a very simple yet disgruntled question: )
Does anyone around here know how to knit? I feel like I have to be missing something.
( In an effort to illustrate the point, there's suddenly a telepathic video stream attached, showcasing what appears to be a muddled ball of yarn; someone may or may not have resorted to trying to rub or melt it together because knitting is obviously just some type of witchcraft.
Hands attempt to pull it apart to showcase the expert craftsmanship that went into this mess -- there's also the sound of rain, as well as a small voice in the background that keeps shouting FUCK! over and over again with varied levels of intensity. The culprit is a chubby Elto baby that's crawling around just out of sight, a thick stick grasped firmly in their hand. )
Lisko! No bad words! -- Regardless, I have a suspicion that the problem is more so with the type of...materials...since they don't want to stick together no matter what I do.
( Or Emil's just an idiot, which is only somewhat more likely. )

...Yes. I can do that. On the days I'm not hunting, or fishing, or things like that. You can always tell me to bring them back, too.
no subject
Oh, yeah... ( He can’t help but be a little taken aback by the fact that Lalli is openly allowing him to tell him what to do. Emil doesn’t have a lot of plans to be demanding (will that change? Only time will tell) when it comes to Lisko. Maybe that’s because he really does feel like this is something for them, not just him. )
We can teach them hunting and fishing things too...when they’re a little older, of course. ( Sighing, Emil finishes his glass of alcohol again. Being a parent is Hard. ) I keep thinking about everything they need to learn and it feels like so much! I know you said there’s time but... Human parents do all of these things over the span of years, and we’ve got to do it all in a fraction of that!
no subject
My parents didn't teach me the things I needed to know. I had a lot of different people. And I still don't know everything I need to. It's not... I don't think there are rules for it. Even if it would be easier if there were.
no subject
It’s also surprisingly reassuring, somehow. He’s capable of saying that Lalli is pretty put together, at least when it comes to some areas of life. He’s weird, socially strange and a rude boy, but Emil still holds him in the highest regard.
...Does he know everything he’s supposed to? Is he, Emil Vaccuumcleaner, a fully capable adult with all the knowledge he needs to survive? Thinking about it hurts his brain too much. Slow down on the self-awareness. )
What do you still need to know? ...Would you even know what you still need to know, since you don’t know it? ( This is getting a little too existential for Drunkmil. )
no subject
[Since hes distracted from deciding his next word to teach Lisko, he sets down his fork and switches to petting them gently on the forehead instead. Whatever the equivalent of a forehead is for a lizard, anyway.]
I know I need to know more spells. More useful, powerful ways to protect everyone. And I don't know a lot about the world... Those train things must have been really normal for you, but they were new to me. I'd never seen anything like that before. But... No. I don't know most of the things I still need to know, probably.
no subject
I don’t know about spells, but trains and...other things. Those are different all over the place. You saw it, but you’ll also see a lot of new things....sooo I guess you can never see everything in the world, especially since there are apparently hundreds of them with any number of ridiculous things.
( Like fucking lizards. But this is a marked difference from the boy who talked about his country’s technology with the haughty air of a bratty teen. He hasn’t seen any transportation method better than that train still, but he’s seen new worlds and new technology. Emil misses the normalcy of home and the technology and comforts, but that experience is his own. Being smug about a turbulent train seems like a faint memory and small potatoes now. )
And then I know a lot of things like that! I can teach you about world things you don’t know. Maybe not in a weird, ridiculous world, but our world...I know a lot!
no subject
Mmn. I don't think I'll mind that. From you. [But since he's a shitty kid, he's still gonna raise an eyebrow haughtily over at Emil.] As long as you listen to me when I tell you you're being an idiot about magic or nature.
no subject
Fine, fine...deal. ( Though assuredly he won’t like being called an idiot and will make that known quickly. This mood dip doesn’t last long on account of the liquor still settling inside him. ) Magic isn’t such a big deal now...I’ve got my own and it’s pretty great! I’m sure I can come around on other strange magical things — your magic is pretty intriguing, honestly. You can make smoke move...sometimes I wonder what else you can do.
( He feels a bundle of words ready to come out of this mouth suddenly and they spill over, totally unfiltered. The only thing stopping him cheerfully babbling more is the fact he takes another sip again, lips otherwise occupied now. )
no subject
Pffh, your magic is nothing like mine, mine's great... [But as he brushes away Emil's accomplishment of I Can Make Fire, he's snuggling in some. Warm soft boy!!] I can do lots. Mostly spirit stuff, so people like you can't see it.
no subject
That’s mostly. Which means there are things that aren’t mostly. ( He’ll pick up on the nuance of language when it pleases him, don’t @ him. There’s not much reaction to Lalli getting closer outside of some position adjustments. Also share your blanket, asshole, it’s cold in here. )
no subject
Hnn, more nature stuff... The big fire bird that helped us was Onni and Koko. I can't do that...
[Onni himself still hadn't woken up from it, and he was a lot stronger. Lalli would probably outright die from the attempt, but he has the sense to omit that information.
ALSO HE'S PRACTICALLY NAKED UNDER THERE, GET YOUR OWN FUCKIN BLANKET.]
no subject
Maybe one day...that was amazing. ( So much fire doing so much stuff!! Out of his gun!!
For real though like...don’t die. ) I wonder if I could do that if I tried hard enough. A big fire...thing! A fire anything I wanted, not just a bird! ( Emil will die instead. )
no subject
Don't try in here.
[More a mumbled warning than anything urgent. Emil probably isn't that dumb.]
no subject
I’m not an idiot. I want to make something as big as this hut! Too bad it’s raining, or I’d try outside.
( So dumb but not godtier dumb. )
no subject
Might be better to try when it’s raining...
no subject
That would make it much more difficult. I can’t totally keep fire from being put out if there’s water involved. ( Like, it would be possible since that’s A LOT of fire but also he’s still not insanely good at this and he’s so comfortable right now...wishful thinking it will stay. ) It feels a lot better in here, anyway.
( Lisko, tired of only simple scratches and pets, does their best to crawl up Lalli’s blanket to find a place to sit amid the dips and corners of both of their bodies. A true cuddle party at last. )
no subject
[The rain difficulty is a safety measure!!! He totally believes in you.
MUFFLED SCREECHING THOUGH]
Why are you both so cold!
no subject
( Usually he’d be sassy, but the question is answered so simply it makes him sound stupid for responding to something almost hypothetical. Thanks, booze. )
They’re a lizard, so staying warm is probably hard...no fur or hair. Or skin.
no subject
[THERE IT IS!!! BEING LIZARDY!!
But fine, Lalli will huff and hug Lisko to him while he...figures out the best way to share the warmth. It’s a lot of clumsy shuffling.]
Next place better have really soft clothes...
no subject
( Emil’s probably only heard the term cold-blooded once in his life, so there’s no way to accurately describe it now. He lets Lalli do what he pleases, content with however much he’s willing to do. )
Soft clothes, better food...less rain. I would prefer a bigger bed, too. A much better house, while it’s at it.
no subject
[this is a long list, though...]
Oh. I like our house. I just wish it had more blankets.
no subject
It’s small, cramped and it leaks.
no subject
Well... I guess. [The leaking part, anyway. He takes another drink while he looks around.] It reminds me of where I lived back home. But not the leaking. Mostly.
no subject
Then I definitely hope wherever we go next has better houses. Something even better than those lizard suites, even! Real houses...yes, real houses would be best.
no subject
[When was the last time he was in a real house, back in his world...? Well, there was the place in Mora, but that hardly counted as an answer. He was there for work reasons.]
What do you need all that space for?
