( At first there's not a video feed, just a very simple yet disgruntled question: )
Does anyone around here know how to knit? I feel like I have to be missing something.
( In an effort to illustrate the point, there's suddenly a telepathic video stream attached, showcasing what appears to be a muddled ball of yarn; someone may or may not have resorted to trying to rub or melt it together because knitting is obviously just some type of witchcraft.
Hands attempt to pull it apart to showcase the expert craftsmanship that went into this mess -- there's also the sound of rain, as well as a small voice in the background that keeps shouting FUCK! over and over again with varied levels of intensity. The culprit is a chubby Elto baby that's crawling around just out of sight, a thick stick grasped firmly in their hand. )
Lisko! No bad words! -- Regardless, I have a suspicion that the problem is more so with the type of...materials...since they don't want to stick together no matter what I do.
( Or Emil's just an idiot, which is only somewhat more likely. )

Oh...! ( Emil can't decide whether or not to beam with the glow of his fiery ego or be really embarrassed. Lalli is of course just explaining this logical reasoning of things, but its all still coming out of his mouth. The magic burns in his hands, excited to be used but instead simply warms his drinks. )
I suppose so, but I'm still incredibly uninterested. Some people here are also romantically involved already, anyway. ( That would lower the number. On the topic of gossip: ) I wonder how many...Imagine liking someone you met from another world enough to be together. Strange, right?
no subject
Idiots. That's gonna be terrible when everyone goes back to where they belong. If you left without me, I'd be really sad, even if I knew exactly where you went and if you'd be safe.
[Which...hmn. Even if they go home at the same time, that's going to happen eventually. If they can all make it.]
Sometimes I'm pretty sure we're all going to die.
[HE SAYS THIS IN THE MOST MATTER OF FACT WAY, I'M SORRY.]
no subject
( Way to be a downer, man...although Emil has no idea what the next world will bring. How did they go from weird kissing to impending doom?
However, it is reassuring that Lalli would miss him. He'd of course miss him as well, but he also hadn't put much stock in them leaving apart...or really at all, except in some hopeful way of going home. )
It is stupid, I guess...but it also makes me sad to think about. If you left, I'd know where you were and that I'd be there too eventually, but for people like Akira, not being able to see Hibiki again...that would be hard. ( Feelings are stupid, but also very real and uncontrollable sometimes...now he's downered himself. )
no subject
Hn? Akira...? Why is he with someone from here? He's smart.
no subject
Yeah. He's got a boyfriend. ( wow it feels weird to say that out loud ) Or at least he did a month or so ago. I don't know that being smart has anything to do with it, really.
no subject
[He contemplates this new information over another draft of mystery moonshine. If he has an opinion on Akira's partner of choice being another man specifically, he doesn't volunteer it.]
Why not? If choosing to love someone you know you'll lose is stupid, then if you're smart, you won't do it.
no subject
( Not that he has some kind of experience in this area, but he's heard enough sappy stories from relatives, as boring as they were at the time.
He'd like to say he had some sort of choice in the matter...maybe you can choose who it is, but not how much you actually like them? His romanticised ideals are still just Emil talking out of his ass. He's had no time or interest in anything of that nature between private tutoring, a traumatizing public school experience and grueling military training. )
Either way, stupid or not, I'd hate to be in that sort of position. Not that I ever would be, since I don't know any of these other-world people nearly enough.
no subject
Acting on some weird, unavoidable feeling that couldn't be explained? He has a hard time seeing why anyone would make that choice, when it was safer for health and heart to avoid it.]
Mrrh. Don't. Even if you find someone from another world you really, really want to kiss, don't do it. Or if some dumb empty bottle tells you to.
no subject
But damn, okay, okay. He'll bite at Lalli's insistence, feeling much more tense talking about this than he thought he would. )
Alright! You don't have to worry! Nothing like that will ever happen, not in a million years. Especially if a bottle says so.
( Emil doesn't feel the same insistence towards Lalli -- imagining Lalli in any sort of situation like that with anyone is hard. Almost incomprehensible...which he doesn't mean to sell the guy short, but the hypothetical scenario can't even appear in his mind. That in and of itself might be something of a downer...Lalli is a good person who deserves happiness.
Those are complex feelings -- none of those allowed right now!!! His mind is starting to get a little more saturated with alcohol and that increases his simplicity, as well as his chattiness, which is gurgling up from within him just like Lisko's increasingly high-pitched hissing. )
no subject
Anyway, he's satisfied with the promise and leans back to enjoy his drink. It's not as bad once your mouth is already basically numb and you're feeling pretty good about yourself. Maybe his was that whole "acquired taste" thing? Really more like turning his taste off...
-- what's with the hissing, he's gonna look over and gently hiss back. Lissssko!]
no subject
Is something wrong? What's that sound? ( His brain has already figured it out, but his mind and his mouth are out of sync right now. ) Oh! They're trying to say something else! Keep doing that, maybe they'll stop saying the other thing!
no subject
no subject
Time to up the ante! ) Ccsss. Kssss. Kiss!
( They said that word like 20 times, that's pretty impressive, right? Now Lisko can talk about whatever this word means, too!
Meanwhile Emil is just stunned...what the hell are people going to think he talks to this child about if all they know is 'kiss' and 'fuck'?? )
no subject
He's starting up another hiss when it registers what this little terror has said. With a scoff, it cuts off.]
My first kiss is not going to be a lizard.
[across space and time, a young palai's heart aches.]
no subject
Though Emil's sure he's kidding, he leans across his crisscrossed legs to pick up Lisko, their rounded claws gliding across Lalli's face with nary a cut or slash. You're too much, little thing. )
They don't know what the words mean. ( Although Emil is glad Lalli has standards, both of the non-pseudo-incestuous and interspecies kinds. ) Here Lisko -- kiss.
( It's easy enough to kiss their scaly forehead, even though Emil could never have imagined he'd press his lips to a lizard in any way, shape or form. Parenthood changes a person...although in his mind it's no more strange than kissing a cat or other pet. The scales are just bizarre to feel against his mouth. )
You don't need to know what that other word means. ( They'll have that talk....never, they will never have that talk, goodbye. ) Why couldn't the first words you say be more innocent?
no subject
You need to say more cute things. You spend the most time with them.
no subject
( Should he be defending himself on his own cuteness? He's getting drunk, so yes. )
It's not like I said anything about...that word, and they started saying it. I don't think what I say matters much!
Maybe they heard it from you. ( The accusatory tone is playful, although...he knows HE didn't say the word, and Lisko is infatuated with getting Lalli to notice them like the kouhai they are. Hmm......a swearing conspiracy! )
no subject
Me? I don't talk.
[He says, talking.]
How dare you.
no subject
Words. You said words right now.
no subject
If I talked, I'd choke, stupid.
[nyeh nyeh.]
no subject
( Oh that's literally in his brain...that took him a second. Now Emil has to question his entire reality, thanks. )
No, words came out of your mouth before! I've been watching!
no subject
[You know, not giving a fuck and having fun is kind of...fun! Huh. What a world.]
no subject
...! It's not on purpose! I'm talking to you, so I'm looking at you!
( This isn't even a gay thing and yet you insinuate weird things!!!!!! )
no subject
Mmn.
[Sure, sure. He believes him, just doesn't care when he has to poke and prod at his teeth to make sure they're all there. Feels about right. Neat.]
You're just mad Lisko listens to me. I taught them "kiss", that can be innocent. Maybe. Sometimes.
no subject
I'm not mad...they listen to me, sometimes! And I know it can be innocent but... ( Emil leans in to whisper about this problem that's haunting his mind: ) If they say that other word in public and they only know those two, they'll sound like some deviant!
( PEOPLE WILL THINK HE IS SOME DEVIANT!!!!! )
